SDG Lab is an organized initiative to bring youths across the globe in a platform to gather and discuss the SDGs. This group is committed to generating and disseminate knowledge on SDGs with a view to helping national and international communities to attain the goals. It encourages out-of-box thinking toward critical evaluation of local, national and global development policies. Through discussions, SDG Lab wants to ensure that these policies are coherent with the SDG and vice-versa.

The heart of SDG Lab are some young professionals who studied in different UK universities under the auspices of the UK Government’s FCO Chevening Scholarship. These scholars are working towards the progression of SDGs with their thinking and acting continuously based on their ideas and experiences to build an inclusive society attaining sustainable development.

Vision

We want to ensure an informed and empowered generation of youths to lead SDG initiatives in national and international arena.

Objectives

With the aim of contributing to the achievement of the SDG, SDGLab looks forward to

Implementation and success of SDGs will rely on the UN initiatives and the countries’ own sustainable development policies, plans and programmes. To this end, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be a compass for aligning countries’ plans with their global commitments. All stakeholders in the countries e.g. governments, civil society, the private sector, and others, are expected to contribute to the realisation of the new agenda. So, apart from the governments, it is our responsibility as the global inhabitants to contribute to the achievement of SDGs. For starting such contribution, we, at first, need to have critical understanding of the sustainable practices, and then, to assist in developing international and national indicators to monitor the progress made on the goals and targets.

With its permanent secretariat in Dhaka, SDG Lab hosts and coordinates between the Working Groups (Comprised of Global Young Professionals) to achieve its objectives.
